Why You Should Go to a Chiropractor

Part of the chiropractic approach involves determining whether the body’s natural structure has caused problems with the functions in other areas of your body because of reactions in the nervous system. Structural changes can affect the nerves and the spinal cord by affecting the normal communication of information from the brain to the rest of the body.

Common Conditions Treated

Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs and headaches. Some of the common conditions we treat include:

  • Neck, Back, Knee and Shoulder Pain
  • Headaches (including migraine headaches)
  • Sciatica (pain down the leg or down the arm)
  • Wrist, Ankle and Foot Problems (Carpal Tunnel, Plantar Fasciitis)
  • Sleep problems, Snoring, TMJ Disorder
  • and More…
This treatment restores balance to the body through adjustments to the spinal bones, which normalizes joint motion, removes nerve interference, relieves stress and pain, and optimizes normal body function. Chiropractic is especially effective in the treatment of low back pain, neck pain, and headaches as well as in the improvement of flexibility and range of motion; some of the major reasons why the profession has become the second-largest primary health care field in the world.

Unltralign AdjsutmentThe Following Techniques are Utilized at Mecca:

Ultralign Technique: involves a computer guided instrument to diagnose and treat vertebral misalignment (subluxation). The pizzo-electric sensor inside the handheld unit senses the normalcy and fluidity of each and every spinal bone. When the system detects a lack of motion in a particular bone, it simply sends an oscillation (vibration) to the bone with specific pressure and angle to restore the bone’s proper motion and therefore proper alignment. A great benefit of the Ultralign is how comfortable the process is. With the patient in the seated position and the removal of the popping and twisting associated with the traditional chiropractic adjustment, the element of fear and apprehension is no longer an obstacle in restoring normal function to the spine and ultimately to the body.

Manual AdjustmentFlexion/Distraction Technique: A specific chiropractic technique that uses mechanical manipulation in conjunction with pressure from the hands to separate or decompress the spinal bones and inter-vertebral discs. This method utilizes a special table which tractions and flexes the spine forward. This technique is primarily used to treat lumbar disc herniations and to increase mobility of the spinal joints. The treatment is very effective and totally painless.

Diversified Technique: This traditional technique, developed by D.D. Palmer (the founder of chiropractic) is the most widely used technique in the profession and the most familiar to patients. It involves a high-velocity low-amplitude thrust that usually results in a cavitation (popping sound) of the joint being adjusted. The focus of this technique is on the restoration to normal biomechanical function, and correction of spinal and extremity misalignments. Diversified technique utilizes specific lines of drive for all manual thrusts to achieve the desired outcome by the doctor of chiropractic.

Thompson Drop Technique: Used as a variation to the traditional Diversified Technique, Thompson Drop utilizes a special table with several moveable segments called drop pieces. These segments can be cocked up a minimal distance (less than an inch) so when the thrust is administered, the segments will drop the distance they are cocked. The theory behind the drop pieces is that they assist the thrust while decreasing the force used for the adjustment. They are especially effective in correcting pelvic dysfunction.
